Front Page:
Weena Mooga, meaning “women together”, is all about the “ womens” in Makasha’s life. They have been supporting her as she has grown up and are always going to be in the centre of her heart. The blue and purple waves, that encapsulate the women and Makasha, represent her growing up and always remembering their care and wisdom. The purple is included because Makasha loves purple. The blue water highlights her connection to her home, Port Lincoln. The painting reminds us of having care and love at the centre in our caring role and how these things are remembered as we grow up.
FQA Page:
Tango was inspired by a Makasha’s participation in Operation Flinders where she hiked with eight girls who were family. Tango was the name of their group. It tells the story of travelling on a journey over hills, reaching destinations and sitting around a campfire a night. The blue and yellow are included to represent Port Lincoln; the town that Makasha calls home. The painting represents travelling to different places and being connected to home and family.
